Those who say that we’re in a time when there are no heroes – they just don’t know where to look. You can see heroes every day going in and out of factory gates. Others, a handful in number, produce enough food to feed all of us and then the world beyond. They’re individuals and families whose taxes support the government and whose voluntary gifts support church, charity, culture, art and education. Their patriotism is quiet but deep. Their values sustain our national life.

Ronald Reagan, First Inaugural Address, January 20th, 1981

The Everyday Hero Foundation was inspired by the heroism and civic virtue of everyday American citizens. We are inspired by these citizens who put themselves in harm’s way, or make a striving self-sacrifice, on the behalf of others. They have no formal obligation to make such sacrifices, but do so because they believe it is their duty and more importantly the right thing to do.
