Mission Statement: To recognize, honor, and chronicle acts of everyday American heroism.
- Identify heroic acts and deeds of everyday American citizens
- Memorialize the heroic act or deed in a recurring scholarship
- Promote American civic virtue
This Foundation is an attempt to identify everyday heroes and recognize their acts of civic virtue. we hope, in the process, that we will raise awareness of and promote American civic virtue, which we believe is necessary for the future of our Republic.
In his farewell address to the nation after voluntarily stepping down as president, George Washington cautioned of the grave importance of civic virtue in a free society.
It is substantially true that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who that is a sincere friend to it can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?
This Foundation, therefore, is our attempt, as sincere friends of the Republic, to strengthen that fabric of virtue upon which this great country was founded.
